At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 August 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 15.71% (up 218 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.6bn against MZN 2.0bn on offer, 133% of the amount sought, and MZN 650m was accepted.
At 15.71%, the 182-day rate is the highest in the 16 auctions of the past year.
