At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 July 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.88% (up 76 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 13.54% (up 6 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 1.6bn against MZN 4.0bn on offer, 39% of the amount sought, and MZN 1.6bn was accepted.
At 12.88%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 8 auctions of the past year.
