At the Treasury bill auction dated 11 May 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 11.76% (up 102 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 12.62% (up 82 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 11.5bn against MZN 10.0bn on offer, 115% of the amount sought, and MZN 10.0bn was accepted.
At 11.76%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 6 auctions of the past year.
