At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 April 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 10.74% (up 46 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 11.03% (up 19 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.5bn against MZN 2.7bn on offer, 91% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.1bn was accepted.
At 10.74%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 5 auctions of the past year.
