At the Treasury bill auction dated 7 June 2016, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 28.97% (unchanged). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 8.6bn and MWK 8.1bn was accepted, 94% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 19.20% to 28.97%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 25.33%, so the government is paying 364 basis points more than twelve months ago.
