Egypt T-bill auction, 19 May 2026: 364-day at 24.46%, up 64 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 19 May 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.14% (up 27 basis points), the 182-day bill at 24.86% (up 14 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.46% (up 64 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 302.4bn against EGP 130.0bn on offer, 233% of the amount sought, and EGP 127.4bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 24.79%, so the government is paying 33 basis points less than twelve months ago.
