Egypt T-bill auction, 16 December 2025: 364-day at 25.42%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 16 December 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 26.26% (down 20 basis points), the 182-day bill at 26.37% (down 6 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.42% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 394.1bn against EGP 110.0bn on offer, 358% of the amount sought, and EGP 189.6bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.24%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.24%, so the government is paying 82 basis points less than twelve months ago.
