Egypt T-bill auction, 15 July 2025: 364-day at 25.13%, up 9 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 15 July 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 27.98% (up 42 basis points), the 182-day bill at 27.16% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.13% (up 9 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 289.6bn against EGP 107.5bn on offer, 269% of the amount sought, and EGP 152.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.14%, so the government is paying 101 basis points less than twelve months ago.

The government pays the full amount at maturity; the risk is Egypt’s government not paying, and the money is locked until then.
