Egypt T-bill auction, 8 July 2025: 364-day at 25.04%, up 5 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 July 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 27.56% (up 64 basis points), the 182-day bill at 27.19% (up 4 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.04% (up 5 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 265.1bn against EGP 120.0bn on offer, 221% of the amount sought, and EGP 139.4bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.00%, so the government is paying 95 basis points less than twelve months ago.
