Egypt T-bill auction, 8 April 2025: 364-day at 24.95%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 April 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 28.24% (up 23 basis points), the 182-day bill at 26.96% (up 32 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.95% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 193.7bn against EGP 110.0bn on offer, 176% of the amount sought, and EGP 44.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.53% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.90%, so the government is paying 95 basis points less than twelve months ago.
