Egypt T-bill auction, 15 March 2022: 364-day at 13.20%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 15 March 2022, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 11.29% (down 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 12.29% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 13.20% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 27.5bn against EGP 21.5bn on offer, 128% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.99% to 13.38%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.29%, so the government is paying 9 basis points less than twelve months ago.
