Egypt T-bill auction, 7 December 2021: 364-day at 13.32%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 7 December 2021, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 12.25% (down 16 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.59% (down 6 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.32% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 79.2bn against EGP 22.0bn on offer, 360% of the amount sought, and EGP 23.1bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.67% to 13.38%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at the same 13.31%.
