Egypt T-bill auction, 9 November 2010: 364-day at 10.34%, down 17 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 9 November 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 9.06% (down 23 basis points), the 182-day bill at 9.78% (down 20 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 10.34% (down 17 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 22.9bn against EGP 6.5bn on offer, 352% of the amount sought, and EGP 6.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 10.25% to 11.66%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 10.24%, so the government is paying 10 basis points more than twelve months ago.
