Egypt T-bill auction, 2 November 2010: 91-day at 9.29%, down 6 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 November 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 9.29% (down 6 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 9.98% (up 17 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 8.9bn against EGP 3.5bn on offer, 255% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 8.82% to 10.29%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 9.71%, so the government is paying 42 basis points less than twelve months ago.
