Egypt T-bill auction, 27 April 2010: 364-day at 10.31%, up 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 April 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 9.74% (up 14 basis points), the 182-day bill at 10.20% (up 17 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 10.31% (up 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 12.1bn against EGP 6.0bn on offer, 201% of the amount sought, and EGP 6.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 9.72% to 11.66%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 10.49%, so the government is paying 17 basis points less than twelve months ago.
