Egypt T-bill auction, 6 April 2010: 91-day at 9.67%, down 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 April 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 9.67% (down 4 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 10.15% (up 12 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 6.7bn against EGP 3.0bn on offer, 223% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 9.56% to 10.43%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 10.26%, so the government is paying 59 basis points less than twelve months ago.
