Egypt T-bill auction, 4 January 2005: 364-day at 10.80%, down 5 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 4 January 2005, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 10.02% (down 8 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 10.80% (down 5 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 5.6bn against EGP 2.0bn on offer, 282% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 10.47% to 12.39%.
