Egypt T-bill auction, 29 June 2004: 91-day at 11.28%, up 13 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 29 June 2004, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 11.28% (up 13 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled EGP 1.5bn against EGP 1.5bn on offer, 99% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.3bn was accepted.
At 11.28%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 41 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 10.27%, so the government is paying 101 basis points more than twelve months ago.
