At the Treasury bill auction dated 18 November 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 7.32% (up 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 2.2bn against EGP 1.9bn on offer, 114% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 5.24% to 14.35%.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 7.10%, so the government is paying 21 basis points more than twelve months ago.
