At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 October 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 7.15% (up 16 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 1.8bn against EGP 1.7bn on offer, 106% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.4bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 5.24% to 14.35%.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 7.11%, so the government is paying 4 basis points more than twelve months ago.
