Egypt T-bill auction, 9 October 2003: 91-day at 6.86%, up 24 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 9 October 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 6.86% (up 24 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 2.5bn against EGP 2.0bn on offer, 126% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 4.60% to 13.59%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 6.97%, so the government is paying 11 basis points less than twelve months ago.
