Kenya bond auction, 26 August 2026: FXD4/2019/010 at 11.239%

The Central Bank of Kenya's bond auction dated 26 August 2026 was a switch auction of FXD4/2019/010.

Bids came to KES 21.9bn against KES 15.0bn on offer (146% subscribed), and the Treasury accepted KES 21.8bn.

FXD4/2019/010 cleared at 11.239%, against a 12.280% coupon, with 3.2 years to maturity. Its previous sale, on 13 December 2021, priced at 12.642%, so the yield is down 140 basis points.

Held to maturity (2029-11-12), that is about KES 33,550 in coupons, plus KES -6,084 loss between what you paid and the KES 100,000 repaid; roughly KES 27,466 in all after tax.
