Zambia T-bill auction, 26 January 2023: 364-day at 14.99%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 January 2023, the Bank of Zambia cleared the 91-day bill at 9.75% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 11.50% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 14.99% (unchanged). The rate shown is the cut-off yield rate at the auction.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled ZMW 2.1bn against ZMW 1.6bn on offer, 130% of the amount sought, and ZMW 2.1bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.28% to 15.00%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 15.00%, so the government is paying 1 basis point less than twelve months ago.
