Zambia T-bill auction, 6 June 2019: 91-day at 16.50%, up 50 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 June 2019, the Bank of Zambia cleared the 91-day bill at 16.50% (up 50 basis points). The rate shown is the cut-off yield rate at the auction.

The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled ZMW 1m against ZMW 75m on offer, 2% of the amount sought, and ZMW 1m was accepted.

At 16.50%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 14 auctions of the past year.
