Uganda T-bill auction, 26 October 2017: 364-day at 9.31%, down 199 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 October 2017, the Bank of Uganda cleared the 91-day bill at 8.72% (down 86 basis points), the 182-day bill at 9.03% (down 112 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 9.31% (down 199 basis points). The rate shown is the money-market yield at the cut-off price.
Demand was strong: bids totalled UGX 349.7bn against UGX 130.0bn on offer, 269% of the amount sought, and UGX 130.0bn was accepted.
At 9.31%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 5 auctions of the past year.
