Tanzania T-bill auction, 16 January 2013: 364-day at 14.46%, down 77 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 16 January 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.98% (down 115 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.00% (down 87 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.46% (down 77 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 177.4bn against TZS 120.0bn on offer, 148% of the amount sought, and TZS 143.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 15.23%.
