At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 July 2025, the South African Reserve Bank cleared the 91-day bill at 7.21% (down 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 7.22% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the average rate at which bills are allotted in the weekly auction.
At 7.22%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 47 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 8.19%, so the government is paying 97 basis points less than twelve months ago.
