Nigeria T-bill auction, 26 April 2007: 182-day at 8.10%, up 35 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 April 2007, the Central Bank of Nigeria set stop rates on the 182-day bill at 8.10% (up 35 basis points). The rate shown is the stop (issue) rate at the primary auction.

The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled NGN 34.6bn against NGN 30.0bn on offer, 115% of the amount sought, and NGN 29.8bn was accepted.

Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 6.10% to 11.99%.

A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 9.90%, so the government is paying 180 basis points less than twelve months ago.
