At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 June 2004, the Central Bank of Nigeria set stop rates on the 91-day bill at 14.49% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the stop (issue) rate at the primary auction.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled NGN 87.6bn against NGN 60.0bn on offer, 146% of the amount sought, and NGN 59.8bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 13.39% to 14.50%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 15.45%, so the government is paying 96 basis points less than twelve months ago.
