Mozambique T-bill auction, 26 August 2026: 364-day at 12.15%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 August 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.14% (down 5 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.22% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.15% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 5.2bn against MZN 4.2bn on offer, 123% of the amount sought, and MZN 5.2bn was accepted.
At 12.15%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 51 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 12.20%, so the government is paying 5 basis points less than twelve months ago.
