Mozambique T-bill auction, 12 August 2026: 91-day at 12.19%, down 12 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 12 August 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.19% (down 12 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 12.26% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.9bn against MZN 4.9bn on offer, 60% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 11.75% to 12.35%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 11.80%, so the government is paying 39 basis points more than twelve months ago.
