At the Treasury bill auction dated 29 May 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.11% (down 8 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.7bn against MZN 2.8bn on offer, 98% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 11.75% to 14.54%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 13.06%, so the government is paying 95 basis points less than twelve months ago.
