Mozambique T-bill auction, 13 May 2026: 364-day at 12.26%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 May 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.18% (up 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.26% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 4.3bn against MZN 4.4bn on offer, 97% of the amount sought, and MZN 4.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.15% to 13.18%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.16%, so the government is paying 90 basis points less than twelve months ago.
