Mozambique T-bill auction, 8 October 2025: 364-day at 12.23%, down 27 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 October 2025, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 11.82% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 11.93% (down 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 12.23% (down 27 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.7bn against MZN 3.3bn on offer, 83% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.20% to 14.43%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 14.45%, so the government is paying 222 basis points less than twelve months ago.
