Mozambique T-bill auction, 26 February 2025: 364-day at 13.26%, up 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 February 2025, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 13.05% (down 9 basis points), the 182-day bill at 13.20% (up 8 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.26% (up 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.3bn against MZN 4.4bn on offer, 51% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.25% to 18.37%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 18.30%, so the government is paying 504 basis points less than twelve months ago.
