Mozambique T-bill auction, 6 November 2024: 364-day at 14.42%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 November 2024, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 14.14% (down 4 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.40% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 14.42% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.1bn against MZN 2.4bn on offer, 88% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.1bn was accepted.
At 14.42%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 33 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 18.24%, so the government is paying 382 basis points less than twelve months ago.
