Mozambique T-bill auction, 2 March 2022: 364-day at 13.40%, up 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 March 2022, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 13.38% (up 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 13.38% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 13.40% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 11.6bn against MZN 11.2bn on offer, 103% of the amount sought, and MZN 11.2bn was accepted.
At 13.40%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 25 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.09%, so the government is paying 31 basis points more than twelve months ago.
