Mozambique T-bill auction, 6 November 2019: 364-day at 12.14%, down 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 November 2019, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 11.78% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 11.87% (down 11 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.14% (down 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
Demand was strong: bids totalled MZN 13.4bn against MZN 6.3bn on offer, 211% of the amount sought, and MZN 6.3bn was accepted.
At 12.14%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 32 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 14.23%, so the government is paying 209 basis points less than twelve months ago.
