Mozambique T-bill auction, 30 May 2018: 364-day at 15.88%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 30 May 2018, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 16.02% (down 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 15.88% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 2.1bn against MZN 2.0bn on offer, 105% of the amount sought, and MZN 1.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 15.85% to 27.53%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 27.78%, so the government is paying 1190 basis points less than twelve months ago.
