Mozambique T-bill auction, 13 December 2017: 364-day at 25.42%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 December 2017, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 24.00% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 25.42% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 530m against MZN 3.5bn on offer, 15% of the amount sought, and MZN 505m was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 25.38% to 29.74%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.50%, so the government is paying 1192 basis points more than twelve months ago.
