Mozambique T-bill auction, 20 September 2017: 364-day at 26.61%, down 3 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 20 September 2017, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 25.12% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 26.61% (down 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled MZN 5.1bn against MZN 5.0bn on offer, 102% of the amount sought, and MZN 5.0bn was accepted.
At 26.61%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 26 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.50%, so the government is paying 1311 basis points more than twelve months ago.
