Mozambique T-bill auction, 19 July 2017: 364-day at 27.44%, down 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 19 July 2017, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 25.38% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 26.29% (down 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 27.44% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 530m against MZN 12.0bn on offer, 4% of the amount sought, and MZN 430m was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 27.11% to 29.74%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.50%, so the government is paying 1394 basis points more than twelve months ago.
