Mozambique T-bill auction, 31 March 2017: 364-day at 29.46%, down 28 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 31 March 2017, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 28.35% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 29.46% (down 28 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 7.7bn against MZN 13.0bn on offer, 59% of the amount sought, and MZN 2.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 11.30% to 29.74%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 11.10%, so the government is paying 1836 basis points more than twelve months ago.
