Mozambique T-bill auction, 28 December 2016: 91-day at 24.48%, down 15 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 December 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 24.48% (down 15 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 27.35% (up 156 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.

The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 1.3bn against MZN 7.0bn on offer, 19% of the amount sought, and MZN 745m was accepted.

Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 8.53% to 24.62%.
