Mozambique T-bill auction, 5 December 2016: 91-day at 23.11%, up 56 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 5 December 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 23.11% (up 56 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.

The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 210m against MZN 4.0bn on offer, 5% of the amount sought, and MZN 210m was accepted.

At 23.11%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 15 auctions of the past year.
