At the Treasury bill auction dated 23 June 2026, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 12.00% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 15.00% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 16.50% (unchanged). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 27.9bn and MWK 27.9bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 16.45% to 26.00%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.00%, so the government is paying 950 basis points less than twelve months ago.
