Malawi T-bill auction, 13 July 2021: 364-day at 13.90%, up 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 July 2021, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 9.20% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 12.99% (up 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.90% (up 1 basis point). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 1.4bn and MWK 1.4bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.75% to 13.94%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.51%, so the government is paying 39 basis points more than twelve months ago.
