At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 August 2019, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 9.21% (down 29 basis points). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.

Bids totalled MWK 408m and MWK 408m was accepted, 100% of what was bid.

Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 8.80% to 14.00%.

A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 13.99%, so the government is paying 478 basis points less than twelve months ago.
