Malawi T-bill auction, 30 May 2018: 364-day at 15.00%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 30 May 2018, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 13.99% (down 1 basis point), the 182-day bill at 14.50% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 15.00% (unchanged). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 8.1bn and MWK 6.5bn was accepted, 80% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 14.29% to 23.00%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 23.14%, so the government is paying 814 basis points less than twelve months ago.
