Malawi T-bill auction, 6 March 2018: 364-day at 15.00%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 6 March 2018, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 14.00% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 14.50% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 15.00% (unchanged). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.
Bids totalled MWK 4.3bn and MWK 4.3bn was accepted, 100% of what was bid.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 14.29% to 25.35%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.35%, so the government is paying 1035 basis points less than twelve months ago.
